Evolution to Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) is being driven by necessity. Today organizations are not limited by geographies. Users or devices are everywhere, and often changing locations. As a result, it’s imperative for secure access services to be everywhere. So far, the network and security services have been thought of in terms of silos. However, the new market category of secure access service edge (SASE) challenged this ideology.
A combination of network-as-a-service capabilities such as SD-WAN, WAN optimization, etc. and the Security-as-a-Service such as SWG, CASB, FWaaS, etc. will support the dynamic secure access (to SaaS applications, IaaS, Internet tools, etc.) that focuses extensively on the identity of the user and/or device.
